I want to love this but mine arrived with a visible scratch on the lid. Not a hairline -- a real gouge. For three hundred dollars I expected perfect. Also the magnet closure feels weaker than I expected based on reviews, it opens in my bag sometimes. Contacted support and they were responsive but the replacement process was a hassle. The grind itself is excellent when it works but at this price point quality control should be flawless.

I have gone through maybe eight grinders in the last decade. Cheap ones, mid-range ones, a couple well-reviewed premium ones. Every single one developed a problem eventually -- threads stripped, coating flaked, a chamber cracked. This is my last grinder. Steel body means nothing to strip or crack or degrade. Threadless means the closure mechanism wont wear out. Made in America which matters to me. The three hundred dollars hurt for about two weeks and then I stopped thinking about it entirely.

Coming from the aluminum Brilliant Cut. The steel version grinds identically which makes sense, same geometry I assume. The upgrade is purely in the material -- it weighs more, the polish is mirror level, and it feels indestructible. Is it worth the extra hundred and fifty bucks? Honestly depends on whether you care about having the nicest version of something. I do, so yes. But the aluminum one is no slouch.

Four stars and I feel weird about it because the actual product is a five star product -- the grind is perfectly consistent, the steel feels incredible, the magnetic closure is strong and satisfying. But I keep circling back to three hundred dollars and wondering if I couldve been just as happy spending sixty. I think the answer is probably yes but also I have zero regrets which is confusing. Buy it if the price doesnt make you flinch.

Look its beautiful. I wont argue that. The finish is stunning and the steel is clearly premium and it grinds perfectly. But three hundred dollars. For a grinder. I think about that every time I use it. My forty dollar grinder ground herb just fine. This grinds herb just fine. The experience of using it is better but not seven times better. If someone gave me this as a gift I would be thrilled. Buying it myself I feel a little bit like an idiot every time. Three stars because I cant give two and a half.
